The Mercury-MerCruiser 35-881126K01 High Efficiency Oil Filter is a genuine OEM replacement filter for select MerCruiser Hi-Performance V8 engines made by General Motors. This screw-on oil filter is designed to provide efficient, effective oil filtration while helping protect vital engine components from damaging contaminants.

Featuring an anti-drain back valve, this filter helps maintain start-up lubrication and reduce dry starts. The filter also features a metal shell that is 50% thicker than conventional filters, along with a durable corrosion-resistant finish for demanding marine environments.

General Installation Steps:

Unscrew the old oil filter and clean the mounting base.
Make sure the old gasket is removed from the mounting base.
Apply a thin coat of oil to the new filter gasket.
Make sure the gasket is seated properly in the base of the filter.
Screw the filter on until the gasket contacts the base.
Tighten 1 to 1-1/4 turns. Do not exceed 1 to 1-1/4 turns.
Use an acceptable oil filter wrench if necessary.
Refill the crankcase, run the engine, and check for leaks.
Check the oil level after running the engine.

Maintenance Note: Change your oil and filter at least once each year, or as recommended by your owner’s manual based on hours of use and operating conditions.
