How to Install Tie Down PVC Boat Trailer Guide-Ons

  • Determine the position for the guides on your trailer. Side guides are usually installed as far back as possible on the trailer.
  • Place U-bolt over frame. Determine the hole in the Angle Adjuster the most closely fits your frame width.
  • Slide Angle Adjuster over inside leg of U-bolt. Note: For frames less than 3" wide and more than 3" deep, thread 1/2" nut onto U-bolt first.
  • Position the Guide Base under the frame so that the u-bolt lines up in the slot on the Guide Base.
  • Loosely fasten the 1/2" nyloc nuts to the u-bolt.
  • Place the guide tube in position with the guide base. Align the holes.
  • Place the 3/8" x 3" carriage bolt through the guide base and the guide tube, place 3/8" washer and nut on the carriage bolt and tighten.
  • Repeat the above steps on the other side.
  • Check the placement of both boat guides and adjust the position to they are both the same distance from the end.
  • Tighten nuts under the guide base.
