Tie Down 86060 Heavy Duty Spare Tire Carrier

The Tie Down Heavy Duty Spare Tire Carrier is used to mount larger spare tires. The heavy duty tire carrier is galvanized for long lasting protection. This durable carrier is designed to be used with large tube, I-beam and aluminum trailers. The Tie Down Heavy Duty Spare Tire Carrier fits frames from 5 inches to 8 inches in height. The bolts can be positioned to accommodate 4, 5, 6, and 8 lug spare tires. The frame bracket, lug nuts and bolts are included.

The following mounting hardware is not included: grade 5 hex head bolts (bolt length is determined by frame width), nyloc nuts and washers.

How to Mount Tie Down 86060 Heavy Duty Spare Tire Carrier

Using the spare tire carrier and spare tire as a guide, determine a suitable mounting location on trailer frame.
Slide Grade 5 hex head bolt and washer (not included) through front (top) tire carrier, over the frame and through the rear mounting bracket.
Use the bolt pattern that fits closest to the frame. Loosely mount with Grade 5 nyloc nut (not included). Repeat for bottom bolt/washer/nut.
Using the spare tire to determine the correct holes to use, place the carriage bolts provided for mounting the spare tire in the holes of the tire mounting plate. Bolt heads should be on the back side of the tire carrier. Secure bolts with retainers.
Check position of the tire mount for proper clearance with the spare tire before tightening bolts.
Once position is determined, tighten both mounting bolts/nuts.
Mount spare tire and tighten lug nuts.
